Fillers - Fat Rebalancing/Juvederm/Restylane

Facial wrinkling can be caused by excessive sun exposure, family history and lifestyle including nutrition, drinking and smoking. Your may also develop blotchiness or brown spots caused by age, birth control pills, acne and pregnancy. These may be improved by skin resurfacing.

Fat Transfer Rebalancing Sculpture

There have been many recent improvements in fat transplantation techniques, providing for a more accurate and longer lasting result. Your own fat can be easily removed from areas where you do not want it, using only local anesthetic and then precisly placed in areas that need fat (volume) replacement. Many body areas may benefit from fat replacement, especially the aging face, especially the aging or drooping face. Rebalancing fat can raise the brow and cheeks as well as restore youthfullness to the eylids, lips, chin and jawline.

Collagens: Cosmoderm® and Cosmoplast®

COSMODERM® and COSMOPLAST® collagen dermal fillers are the only ones approved for the treatment of fine lines and lip border. The products are made of highly-purified human collagen, a natural protein that supports the skin and helps replenish collagen lost with time, exposure to sunlight and other factors. COSMODERM® and COSMOPLAST® are the first FDA-approved collagen-based dermal fillers that don’t require a pre-treatment skin test and only products formulated with lidocaine for patient comfort, delivering immediate results with no down-time.

JUVÉDERM Dermal Filler Family of Products

UVÉDERM™ Ultra and JUVÉDERM™ Ultra Plus, approved by the FDA in June 2006, are the ‘next generation’ of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers and are the only hyaluronic acid dermal fillers approved to last up to one year, providing a smooth, long-lasting correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM™ contains a high concentration of non-animal, cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and were the first hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to demonstrate safety and effectiveness in patients of color. JUVÉDERM™ is developed using the proprietary HYLACROSS™ technology, a technologically advanced manufacturing process that results in a malleable, smooth gel that flows easily into the skin and creates a smooth, natural look and feel. All other HA fillers currently on the market have a granular consistency gel. These granules can be seen under 2.4X magnification as opposed to the smooth consistency gel of the JUVÉDERM™ family of products. The FDA approved the following formulations of JUVÉDERM™, providing physicians with the flexibility to tailor each treatment to the particular needs of the patient. Product formulations include: JUVÉDERM™ Ultra, a highly cross-linked formulation for more versatility in contouring and volumizing of facial wrinkles and folds and JUVÉDERM™ Ultra Plus, a more highly cross-linked robust formulation for volumizing and correction of deeper folds and wrinkles.

Radiesse (before & after photos)

Radiesse incorporates our patented formulation of CaHA microspheres suspended in a gel carrier and is designed to provide satisfying, long-lasting, cost-effective and safe aesthetic benefits for patients. The product’s unique calcium-based microsphere technology, along with the proprietary gel technology, helps to restore volume and promotes the growth of the body’s own collagen, providing lasting, but not permanent, augmentation.

The components of the Radiesse implant have a long history of safe and effective use for medical applications. Use of only a relatively small amount of implant will provide results that will make a lasting difference.

Radiesse has demonstrated durable safe results in many patients, and offers substantial benefits to some of the other available soft-tissue implants. No patient pre-testing is required due to Radiesse’s unique natural product formulation and biocompatibility profile. Radiesse will remain soft and pliable and will take on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue, and will offer a durable cosmetic effect to the patient.

The microspheres of CaHA have been shown to last up to seven years clinically. Radiesse should provide a long lasting correction, however individual results may vary, affected by age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity.

Some patients may achieve an optimal correction on their first injection. For other patients, variability in the rate of tissue in-growth following resorption of the gel carrier may require additional injections to achieve an optimal correction

In this section, you'll learn where Restylane or Perlane can be used and see examples of how either treatment can help you reach your goal of a more youthful appearance. The procedure is non-surgical, and its effects are virtually instantaneous.

Restylane® products are cosmetic dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane and Perlane® are made of hyaluronic acid. In the human body, natural hyaluronic acid provides volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane and Perlane has been modified slightly to last longer than the body's hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane and Perlane is produced by a biotechnical process. Restylane and Perlane are hydrophilic or "water loving." The hydrophilic nature of these hyaluronic acid molecules and their three dimensional structure allows them to bind many times their own weight in water. As hyaluronic acid begins to degrade, each molecule binds to more water which helps to maintain its volume for about six months. Restylane and Perlane contain no animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reactions. Restylane and Perlane contain trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins and are contraindicated for patients with a history of allergies to such material. No allergy testing is required before use.
